| Birth | Finlay, son of John MacLean, the Inverness Cemtenarian, was a large stout man, while his father was tall and thin. For many years he was foreman in the Herald (Inverness) office. He had a ready pen, and was a man of ability. It was considered that he was the author of his father\'s Reminisceneces. He wrote a history of Inverness. He was married, and died about 1857, aged fifty leaving a family.

Died 51 years old. Finlay went blind towards the end of his life. He worked as a printer for Lord Lovat (of the Frasers of Beaully) and presented in church alongside his father. |
